Soraya (harpist) graduated in 2013 from Trinity Laban Conservatoire, London, with a BMus First Class Honours Degree in harp performance and gaining a high Distinction in an LTCL Diploma for Music Teaching. Soraya has gained a Leverhulme Arts Scholarship to continue her studies on a Masters of Music Performance course, and has been awarded a Musicians Benevolent Fund Postgraduate Performance Award. Soraya had her concerto debut at St John’s, Smith Square, London, at the age of 15, and has travelled widely with her harp, playing both solo and orchestral works, and has played in many prestigious venues in the UK including The Royal Albert Hall, London Barbican, Cardiff Millennium Centre, Birmingham Symphony Hall and Festival Hall at London’s South Bank. Regularly invited to play for dignitaries, Soraya has performed for members of the Royal family, including Her Majesty the Queen, and also for Lord Lieutenants. A highly popular performer at weddings and corporate events Soraya has played for many prestigious clients, including new launches of BMW and for Frank Benbini of the Fun Lovin’ Criminals on his CD, “Smiles for Miles”.
Katherine (flute) is in the final year of completing her Masters degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She is a TCL scholar, and generously supported by the Leverhulme Trust and the Harpenden Music Foundation. While at Trinity, Katherine has been a semi-finalist in the Soloist's Competition and in the Croydon Concerto Competition. Having studied at Wells Cathedral School as a specialist musician, in which time she played in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. While completing her undergraduate degree Katherine won an ERASMUS scholarship to study in Italy in her third year, and completed her Bachelor of Music degree at Birmingham Conservatoire with a First Class Honours. At Birmingham she was a finalist of the Micklam Prize, the Ambache Prize, the TH/SH Prize for two consecutive years and the Woodwind Prize. Over the last year Katherine has been on placement with the coveted Mentor Scheme with the BBC Concert Orchestra, gaining tuition and advice from principal flute Ileana Ruhemann. She has been involved in a number of performances in venues in and around London and is a member of the Westgate Wind Quintet which won the June Emerson Wind 2013 Launchpad Prize, and recently performed at St. Martin-in-the-Fields.
